At the
6th annual Ontario Global Traders Awards, the Ontario government today
honoured southwestern Ontario’s top exporters for their exceptional contributions to a strong
and prosperous Ontario in 2003.
“Ontario’s international reputation
is solid because our exporters continue working hard
to be innovative—creating demand for products and services that
are needed and wanted around the world,” said Tony Wong,
who presented the awards as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic
Development and Trade, Joseph Cordiano.
The awards recognize
the most innovative and successful small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), business leaders,
and students throughout Ontario. ”
“Exports make a strong contribution to
Ontario’s economy. With every success, big or small, exporters create
skilled jobs, strengthen our province, and improve quality of life for
Ontarians,” said Cordiano in a broadcast message. “The McGuinty government
is committed to working with SMEs—we are proud of your achievements, and we
want to ensure your successes continue.”
