Brock Solutions derives its origins
from the amalgamation of S-S Technologies Inc., SAF Drive Systems Ltd. and
Picard Technologies Inc., with each original company playing an important
role in demonstrating the quality, stability and strength with which the
Brock name has become synonymous.
S-S Technologies Inc. began as the Software Development Group of Sutherland-Schultz
Ltd. in Kitchener in the late 1970s. At that time, Sutherland-Schultz was a fully integrated
engineering/construction company. As a division of Sutherland-Schultz, the Software Development
Group developed expertise in, and a loyal customer base for, Integrated Systems services, and
began marketing its unique automation products. During fifteen plus years of operations,
the Group developed a reputation for excellent customer service and innovative solutions
to complex automation problems.
SAF Drives Systems Ltd. has built its success by providing drives expertise and
engineered drive solutions to its industrial customers. SAF was incorporated in 1976 as
Saftronics, and was based in Guelph and subsequently Stratford, Ontario over the next ten
years. In 1987 Sutherland-Schultz Limited acquired SAF’s Canadian shares and the
company was moved to Kitchener, Ontario where it presently bases its operations. As
a part of Sutherland-Schultz, SAF evolved from a leading standard drives manufacturer
to a fully integrated drive systems engineering firm.
Picard Technologies, Brock’s Pharmaceutical division began its operations in 1993 in
Montreal and moved to Toronto a few years later. In 2001, Picard merged its unique talents
with S-S Technologies to offer a wider range of services to the Biotech and Pharmaceutical
industries.
