Process Knowledge Depth

Brock Solutions' Drives Group has know-how and depth not just in drives technology, but also in the processes in which the drives are applied.

A few examples are:

  • On the conversion of a newspaper press from shafted to shaftless operation, Brock delivered a system with better than two thousandths of an inch position accuracy at 60,000 IPH on a newspaper press with more than 20 thousandths of an inch back-lash ( back-lash at least ten times greater than accuracy required). High-precision was required to be applied to poor mechanical components, and Brock had to develop the solution since no controller on the market could do the job
  • Another algorithm developed by Brock allowed a Bar Mill to deliver bars that converge to the optimum set-up in tension-free mode two times faster than the industry standard
  • Another drive project engineered by Brock produced a leading-edge winder that switched from gap and surface winding to center winding on the fly in the middle of a roll (and produced NO major tension variations)
