- Situation: A major US airport required a completely automated Inline 100% Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) System. The project scope was detailed, covering the:
- Design, manufacture, and installation of the entire HBS conveyor system, including all panel builds.
- Design, development, and implementation of machine-level conveyor controls, and the design and programming of a sortation and information system (upper-level software) for integration to the airport's existing system.
- Inline integration of the Baggage Screening System with X-Ray screening devices.
- The Role of Brock Solutions' Panel Shop: Design and build of 49 Motor Control Panels (approximately 150 bays in total, consisting of 2 to 6 door panels). Integrate 400+ operator control stations.
- Unique Challenge: Panel work was based on supplied component specification documents that were found to contain components that did not meet Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards. UL compliance was necessary for the project to be successfully completed. The Panel Shop working directly with the UL governing body to assure all components were compliant, while still completing work to scheduled milestones.
