Airport and Airline Industry Baggage Sortation and Tracking
Baggage Sortation is a real-time function that involves the receipt of bag IDs from automatic tag readers and database look-ups to determine the sort destination based on pre-configured sort criteria and current flight schedules. For over 12 years, Brock has provided a suite of software called SmartSort to provide real-time baggage sortation, system reporting, and baggage tracking.
SmartSort is an integrated system of applications which includes:
- Sort Allocation Controller (SAC)
- Manual Encode Console (MEC)
- Maintenance Diagnostic System (MDS)
- Management Information System (MIS)
- Human Machine Interface (HMI)
The solution tracks and reports all the key performance indicators for managing a BHS, including individual bag event tracking, and provides this visibility through system reports, bag search screens, and HMI screens.
